Ingredients
1 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 large eggs, beaten
1/2 cup butter, melted
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt.
3. Add in the beaten eggs, melted butter (slightly cooled), and vanilla extract. Stir until just combined.
4. Fold in the chopped pecans until evenly distributed.
5. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared dish and bake for 30–35 minutes, or until golden and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out mostly clean.
6. Allow to cool completely in the pan before slicing into squares.
Notes
Use fresh pecans for maximum flavor and crunch.
Don’t overmix the batter; stir until just combined for a chewy texture.
Let cool fully before slicing to keep the squares neat and firm.
