  • Author: Mira
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings (8 tacos)

Description

Spicy Grilled Shrimp Tacos are the ultimate quick dinner idea — packed with bold chili-lime flavor, tender grilled shrimp, and a crunchy slaw that ties it all together. This easy recipe is perfect for busy weeknights, backyard grilling, or a fun Taco Tuesday twist. Whether you’re looking for healthy snack ideas or fresh food inspiration, these tacos deliver both flavor and ease.

Ingredients

1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon smoked paprika

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon ground cumin

1/2 teaspoon salt

2 tablespoons fresh lime juice

2 cups shredded cabbage

2 tablespoons mayonnaise

2 tablespoons sour cream

1 tablespoon lime juice (for slaw)

8 corn tortillas

Optional toppings: avocado, cotija cheese, hot sauce, cilantro

Instructions

1. In a large bowl, combine olive oil, chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder, cumin, salt, and lime juice. Add shrimp and toss to coat. Let marinate for 15–30 minutes.

2. While the shrimp marinates, prepare the slaw by mixing shredded cabbage with mayo, sour cream, lime juice, and a pinch of salt. Chill until ready to use.

3. Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium-high heat. Thread shrimp onto skewers if needed. Grill for 2–3 minutes per side until shrimp are pink and slightly charred.

4. Warm corn tortillas on the grill or in a dry skillet for about 30 seconds per side.

5. To assemble, add slaw to each tortilla, top with grilled shrimp, and add any desired toppings such as avocado, cotija cheese, hot sauce, or cilantro.

Notes

Marinate shrimp only 15–30 minutes to avoid a mushy texture.

Pat shrimp dry before grilling to get a good sear.

Make the slaw ahead, but don’t overdress it to keep it crisp.
