Description

Shrimp Tortellini Alfredo is a rich, comforting dish perfect for quick dinners or elegant nights in. This easy recipe combines tender cheese-filled tortellini and juicy shrimp in a creamy garlic Alfredo sauce. With fresh basil for brightness and parmesan for depth, it’s one of those quick dinner ideas that feels fancy without the fuss. Ideal for anyone looking for easy recipe inspiration, dinner ideas with seafood, or hearty food ideas that come together fast.

Ingredients

1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined

9 oz refrigerated cheese tortellini

1 tablespoon olive oil

2 tablespoons butter

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

3/4 cup grated parmesan cheese

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Fresh basil, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon butter in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat.

2. Add shrimp, season with salt and pepper, and cook until pink and firm, about 2 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.

3. In the same skillet, melt remaining butter and add minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute.

4. Pour in heavy cream, bring to a simmer, and stir in parmesan. Simmer until sauce thickens, about 5 minutes.

5. Add tortellini directly into the sauce. Cook uncovered, stirring occasionally, for 5-7 minutes or until tender.

6. Return shrimp to the skillet, stir to combine, and cook 1-2 minutes until everything is warmed through.

7. Top with chopped fresh basil and serve immediately.

Notes

Use raw shrimp for best flavor and texture—precooked ones tend to turn rubbery.

Let the Alfredo sauce reduce enough to coat the pasta without being too thick.

Fresh refrigerated tortellini cook quicker and have better texture than dried versions.
