Description

This Pull-Apart Sourdough Brie and Cranberry Bread is a warm, cheesy, easy recipe that feels perfect for holiday appetizer spreads, easy entertaining, cozy snack boards, and festive food ideas. With crusty sourdough, creamy brie, sweet-tart cranberry sauce, and fresh herbs in every bite, it is one of those easy appetizer recipes that looks impressive, tastes amazing, and comes together with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

1 round sourdough boule

8 ounces brie cheese

1/2 cup cranberry sauce

3 tablespoons butter, melted

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 teaspoon fresh rosemary, chopped

1 teaspoon fresh thyme, chopped

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon honey, optional

2 tablespoons chopped pecans, optional

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.

2. Place the sourdough loaf on a cutting board and slice it in a crisscross pattern, making deep cuts without slicing all the way through the bottom.

3. Cut the brie into small cubes or thin strips so it fits easily into the bread pockets.

4. Gently open the cuts in the loaf and tuck the brie evenly throughout the bread. Spoon the cranberry sauce into the cuts as well.

5. In a small bowl, stir together the melted butter, garlic, rosemary, thyme, salt, and black pepper.

6. Brush or drizzle the butter mixture all over the loaf, letting it seep into the cuts.

7. Wrap the loaf loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes.

8. Uncover and bake for another 10 to 15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the bread is hot and slightly crisp on top.

9. Drizzle with honey and sprinkle with chopped pecans if using.

10. Serve warm and let everyone pull apart pieces from the loaf.

Notes

Use a sturdy round sourdough loaf so it holds its shape after filling and baking.

Do not cut all the way through the bread or the loaf can fall apart before serving.

Serve it warm for the best gooey brie texture and the most flavorful pull-apart bites.
