Description

These Pineapple Brown Sugar Mississippi Lil Smokies Bites are the ultimate easy appetizer for parties, game day, holiday gatherings, and snack tables. Sweet pineapple, smoky little sausages, brown sugar, butter, and zesty pepperoncini come together in a sticky, savory glaze that tastes bold and irresistible. This easy recipe is packed with appetizer ideas, party food flavor, and quick snack appeal, making it one of those simple food ideas everyone comes back for.

Ingredients

1 (14-ounce) package lil smokies

1 (20-ounce) can pineapple chunks, drained

1/2 cup light brown sugar

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

5 pepperoncini peppers, sliced

2 tablespoons pepperoncini juice

1 tablespoon ranch seasoning mix

1 tablespoon au jus gravy mix

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley, optional for garnish

Instructions

1. Drain the pineapple chunks and set them aside. Slice the pepperoncini peppers if you want smaller pieces throughout the sauce.

2. Add the brown sugar, butter, ranch seasoning, au jus gravy mix, garlic powder, black pepper, sliced pepperoncini, and pepperoncini juice to a slow cooker or medium saucepan.

3. Add the lil smokies and pineapple chunks, then stir gently until everything is coated.

4. If using a slow cooker, cook on low for 2 to 3 hours, stirring once or twice, until the sausages are hot and the sauce is glossy.

5. If using the stovetop, cook over low to medium-low heat for 15 to 20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the butter melts and the sauce thickens slightly.

6. Taste and adjust if needed with a little more pepperoncini juice for tang or a bit more brown sugar for sweetness.

7. Garnish with chopped parsley if desired and serve warm with toothpicks.

Notes

Keep the lil smokies warm in a slow cooker on the warm setting if serving for a party.

For a thicker sauce, let the mixture cook uncovered a little longer on the stovetop before serving.

Fresh pineapple can be used, but canned pineapple gives a sweeter, softer bite that blends especially well with the sauce.
