Frozen dumplings bake until tender inside with lightly crisp edges, then get paired with a creamy peanut sauce made with soy sauce, lime, garlic, ginger, and sesame oil for a quick dinner or healthy snack-style meal that tastes fresh, savory, and comforting.
Ingredients
24 frozen dumplings
1 tablespoon neutral oil
1/3 cup creamy peanut butter
2 tablespoons soy sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 tablespoon fresh lime juice
1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup
1 teaspoon sesame oil
1 garlic clove, finely grated
1 teaspoon fresh ginger, finely grated
3 to 5 tablespoons warm water
1 to 2 teaspoons chili garlic sauce or sriracha
2 tablespoons sliced green onions
1 teaspoon sesame seeds
2 tablespoons chopped cilantro
Instructions
1. Preheat the oven to 400°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. Arrange the frozen dumplings on the baking sheet in a single layer with space between each one.
3. Brush or toss the dumplings with neutral oil so the wrappers can crisp lightly as they bake.
4. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes, turning halfway through, until the dumplings are hot inside and lightly golden around the edges.
5. While the dumplings bake, whisk peanut butter, soy sauce, rice vinegar, lime juice, honey or maple syrup, sesame oil, garlic, ginger, and chili sauce in a bowl.
6. Add warm water one tablespoon at a time, whisking until the sauce is smooth, creamy, and easy to dip.
7. Taste the sauce and adjust with more lime juice, soy sauce, sweetener, or chili sauce as needed.
8. Transfer the baked dumplings to a plate and serve warm with peanut sauce.
9. Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and cilantro before serving.
Notes
Bake the dumplings straight from frozen for the best texture and easiest handling.
Add warm water slowly to the peanut sauce because different peanut butter brands thicken differently.
Store dumplings and sauce separately so the dumplings do not become soggy in the refrigerator.
