Description

These Oatmeal Jam Bars are a cozy, crumbly treat with a golden oat crust and a sweet, fruity jam center. Whether you need a quick breakfast, a healthy snack, or easy dessert for your next gathering, this easy recipe delivers every time. Perfect for breakfast ideas, food gifts, or just a classic baked good to keep around.

Ingredients

1 1/2 cups old-fashioned rolled oats

1 cup all-purpose flour

3/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/4 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup unsalted butter, melted

3/4 cup fruit jam (raspberry, strawberry, or your favorite)

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line an 8×8-inch metal baking pan with parchment paper.

2. In a large bowl, mix oats, flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt.

3. Add melted butter and stir until crumbly dough forms.

4. Press two-thirds of the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan.

5. Spread jam evenly over the base, leaving a slight border.

6. Crumble the remaining oat mixture over the top and press gently.

7. Bake for 30–35 minutes, until golden and bubbly at the edges.

8. Cool completely before lifting out and slicing into bars.

Notes

Let bars cool fully to avoid crumbling when slicing.

Use parchment paper with an overhang for easy removal.

Choose a thick, high-quality jam to avoid soggy layers.
