Ingredients

1 pound breakfast sausage

1 9-inch refrigerated pie crust

6 large eggs

1 cup whole milk

1 1/2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese

1/2 cup finely chopped onion

2 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 375°F. Press the 9-inch pie crust into a pie dish and crimp the edges. Set aside.

2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook 1 pound breakfast sausage until browned and fully cooked, breaking it into crumbles. Drain excess grease.

3. Add 1/2 cup chopped onion to the skillet and cook for 3–4 minutes until softened. Stir in 2 cloves minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.

4. In a large bowl, whisk together 6 eggs, 1 cup whole milk, 1/2 teaspoon salt, and 1/4 teaspoon black pepper until smooth.

5. Stir in the cooked sausage mixture and 1 1/2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese.

6. Pour filling evenly into prepared pie crust.

7. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the center is set and a knife inserted near the center comes out clean.

8. Let rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Let the pie rest before slicing to ensure clean cuts and proper texture.

For extra flavor, use spicy breakfast sausage instead of mild.

Store leftovers tightly covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
