Ingredients

1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

3 cloves garlic, minced

1/4 cup honey

1/4 cup soy sauce

1 tbsp rice vinegar

1 tsp cornstarch

2 tbsp water

2 cups cooked jasmine rice

2 cups steamed broccoli

1 tbsp oil for cooking

1 tsp sesame seeds (optional)

1 tbsp chopped parsley or green onion (optional)

Instructions

1. Cook the jasmine rice and steam the broccoli until tender but still vibrant.

2. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, and minced garlic.

3. Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook until pink, about 2-3 minutes per side.

4. Pour in the sauce and stir to coat the shrimp.

5. Mix cornstarch with water to create a slurry, then add to the skillet.

6. Stir constantly until sauce thickens and coats the shrimp, about 1 minute.

7. Remove from heat. Serve shrimp over rice with broccoli on the side.

8. Garnish with sesame seeds and chopped herbs if desired.

Notes

Don’t overcook the shrimp; remove them from heat as soon as they curl and turn pink.

Make extra sauce if you like your rice extra flavorful or plan to meal prep.

Always use fresh garlic for best flavor; jarred garlic won’t deliver the same punch.
