Ingredients
4–5 small cucumbers
1 cup white vinegar
1 cup water
1 tablespoon kosher salt
1 tablespoon sugar
4 garlic cloves
1/2 small white onion
4–5 sprigs fresh dill
2 teaspoons pickling spice
Instructions
1. Slice cucumbers into rounds or spears and place them in a clean mason jar with sliced onions, garlic, and dill.
2. In a saucepan, heat water, vinegar, salt, sugar, and pickling spices until salt and sugar dissolve. Do not boil.
3. Let brine cool slightly, then pour over the vegetables in the jar.
4. Ensure all contents are submerged and seal the jar tightly.
5. Refrigerate for at least 24 hours before eating. Best flavor develops after 3 days.
Notes
Always use cold, firm cucumbers for the crispiest texture.
Let the brine cool before pouring to avoid soft pickles.
Store pickles in the coldest part of your fridge to maintain crunch.
