Description

These Fudgy Eggnog Bars with Eggnog Glaze are rich, chewy, and full of cozy holiday flavor, making them an easy dessert for Christmas parties, winter baking, dessert trays, potlucks, and festive food ideas. With a soft blondie-style center, creamy eggnog glaze, warm nutmeg, and simple pantry ingredients, this easy recipe is perfect when you need quick dessert ideas that feel special without extra decorating.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter, melted

1 cup packed light brown sugar

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1 large egg

1 large egg yolk

1/3 cup eggnog

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/2 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup white chocolate chips

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

3 tablespoons eggnog

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1 pinch salt

Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F and line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper. Lightly grease the exposed sides.

2. In a large bowl, whisk melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until glossy and smooth.

3. Add the egg, egg yolk, eggnog, and vanilla extract. Whisk until the mixture is creamy and fully combined.

4. Stir in the flour, nutmeg, cinnamon, and salt just until no dry streaks remain.

5. Fold in the white chocolate chips, then spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan.

6. Bake for 28 to 32 minutes, or until the edges are set and the center looks softly baked. A toothpick should come out with a few moist crumbs.

7. Let the bars cool completely in the pan before glazing.

8. Whisk powdered sugar, eggnog, vanilla extract, nutmeg, and salt until smooth. Add a tiny splash more eggnog if needed.

9. Spread the glaze over the cooled bars and let it set before slicing into squares.

Notes

Do not overbake the bars. The center should be set but still soft so the texture stays fudgy.

Let the bars cool completely before adding the glaze, otherwise the glaze can melt and become too thin.

For the cleanest slices, chill the glazed bars for 20 to 30 minutes and wipe the knife between cuts.
