Description

Fudgy Brownie Waffles are a quick breakfast, easy dessert, and fun brunch idea all in one rich chocolate treat. These easy brownie waffles cook in a waffle iron with crisp edges, soft fudgy centers, and melty chocolate chips, making them perfect for dessert ideas, breakfast ideas, weekend food ideas, or an easy recipe when a brownie craving hits fast.

Ingredients

1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted

1/2 cup granulated sugar

1/3 cup packed brown sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

3/4 cup all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/4 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup mini chocolate chips

1 tablespoon cooking spray or oil, for greasing

Instructions

1. Preheat the waffle iron to medium heat and lightly grease the plates with cooking spray or oil.

2. In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth and glossy.

3. Add the eggs one at a time, then whisk in the vanilla extract until the mixture looks shiny.

4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, baking powder, and salt.

5. Stir the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients just until combined.

6. Fold in the mini chocolate chips gently.

7. Spoon batter into the center of the hot waffle iron, close the lid, and cook for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the edges look set and the steam slows.

8. Let the waffle rest for 30 to 60 seconds before carefully removing it with a silicone spatula.

9. Serve warm with powdered sugar, whipped cream, berries, chocolate sauce, or ice cream.

Notes

Do not overfill the waffle iron because brownie batter expands and can spill from the sides.

Let each waffle rest briefly before lifting it out so the fudgy center has time to set.

For extra-rich waffles, serve them warm with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce.
