Ingredients
2 cups heavy cream
1/3 cup powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 baked 9×13 inch vanilla cake
2 cups strawberries
1 cup blueberries
8 8 oz mason jars
Instructions
1. Bake the vanilla cake in a 9×13 inch pan according to recipe or box mix instructions. Let it cool completely, then cut into 1-inch cubes.
2. In a large bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form. Chill until ready to use.
3. Rinse and hull the strawberries, then slice them thinly. Rinse blueberries and pat dry.
4. In each 8 oz jar, layer cake cubes, whipped cream, strawberry slices, and blueberries. Repeat the layers until the jar is full.
5. Top with a swirl of whipped cream and extra berries.
6. Close each jar with its lid and refrigerate for at least 1 hour. Serve cold.
Notes
Use angel food cake for a lighter version.
Assemble just the cake and fruit first if prepping ahead; add whipped cream later.
Make it extra festive with patriotic toothpicks or flag toppers.
