Whether you’re looking for quick Thanksgiving desserts, festive cookie ideas, or easy recipes for a cozy celebration, this one ticks every box. Ideal for quick breakfast snacks, holiday gifting, or a simple treat after dinner.

Ingredients

1 cup unsalted butter

1 cup brown sugar

1 large egg

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

3/4 cup finely chopped pecans

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons maple syrup

1 to 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium heat until browned and fragrant, then let cool slightly.

2. Whisk browned butter, brown sugar, egg, and vanilla together in a large bowl.

3. In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.

5. Fold in the chopped pecans until evenly distributed.

6. Scoop tablespoons of dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet.

7. Bake at 350°F for 9-11 minutes until edges are set and centers are soft.

8. Cool cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a rack.

9. Whisk powdered sugar, maple syrup, and milk to make a glaze.

10. Drizzle glaze over cooled cookies and allow to set before serving.

Notes

Make sure the browned butter is cool enough so it doesn’t scramble the egg.

Let cookies cool completely before glazing to avoid a runny mess.

Chop pecans finely so they blend into the cookie texture instead of overwhelming it.
