This Easy Garlic Naan Bread recipe is everything you want in homemade flatbread—soft, fluffy, blistered in all the right places, and brushed with garlicky, buttery goodness. Whether you’re looking for a quick bread to pair with curry or need an easy side dish for dinner, this simple skillet naan delivers restaurant-style results with minimal effort. Perfect for quick breakfast ideas, easy dinner nights, or when you’re in the mood for a healthy snack. A go-to for fans of food ideas that come together fast.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

1 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon sugar

2 tablespoons oil

2 tablespoons plain yogurt

3/4 cup warm milk

2 tablespoons butter

2 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons chopped fresh cilantro

Instructions

1. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar.

2. Add the yogurt, warm milk, and oil. Mix until a shaggy dough forms.

3. Knead the dough for 5–7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover and let rest for 30–40 minutes.

4. While dough rests, melt butter in a pan and cook minced garlic gently until fragrant. Stir in chopped cilantro and set aside.

5. Divide rested dough into 6 balls. Roll each into an oval or teardrop shape about 1/4 inch thick.

6. Heat a cast iron skillet until very hot. Cook each naan for 1–2 minutes on one side, flip and cook another minute on the other side.

7. Remove from pan and brush immediately with garlic butter.

8. Stack and keep covered with a towel to stay warm until serving.

Notes

Use full-fat yogurt for the best dough texture—low-fat won’t give the same softness.

Always preheat your skillet thoroughly to get those golden blistered spots.

Brushing the naan while it’s hot helps the garlic butter absorb and shine perfectly.
