Ingredients
1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup candy-coated chocolate eggs
Buttercream frosting, optional for decorating
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line a 9-inch round cake pan with parchment paper.
2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until fluffy.
3. Add the egg and vanilla extract. Beat until combined.
4. Mix in the flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined.
5. Fold in chocolate chips and candy-coated chocolate eggs, reserving a few for topping.
6. Press the dough evenly into the prepared pan and top with reserved candies.
7. Bake for 18–22 minutes, until edges are golden and center is set.
8. Let cool for 10 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
9. Once cool, decorate with buttercream frosting if desired. Slice and serve.
Notes
For crispier edges, bake toward the longer end of the time range.
You can skip the frosting or use store-bought for convenience.
Let the cookie cool completely before decorating to avoid melted buttercream.
