1 tablespoon olive oil
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 onion sliced
3 cloves garlic smashed
1 cup beef broth
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
12 Hawaiian rolls
6 slices provolone cheese
1/3 cup chopped pickled jalapeños
2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
1. Season the chuck roast with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
2. Heat olive oil in a skillet and sear the roast on all sides until browned.
3. Place the roast in the crockpot with sliced onion, garlic, beef broth, and Worcestershire sauce.
4. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the beef is fall-apart tender.
5. Shred the beef in the crockpot and let it sit in the juices for 10-15 minutes.
6. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally and place the bottoms in a baking dish.
7. Layer with shredded beef, provolone cheese, and chopped jalapeños.
8. Place the top halves of the rolls back on and brush with melted butter.
9. Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes until the cheese is melted and tops are golden.
10. Serve warm and enjoy!
Notes
Searing the roast before slow cooking builds deep, rich flavor.
Let the shredded beef sit in the juices after cooking to absorb more flavor.
Use a metal baking pan to help the bottoms crisp slightly and avoid sogginess.
