Description
Crockpot Honey Garlic Meatballs are a quick dinner, easy recipe, and one of those food ideas you will want to keep on repeat for busy weeknights, casual gatherings, and simple dinner ideas. Tender meatballs cook in a sticky honey garlic sauce with sweet, savory, and garlicky flavor in every bite, making this an easy dinner that also works as a healthy-ish snack, party appetizer, or meal prep option.
Ingredients
32 oz frozen fully cooked meatballs
1/2 cup honey
4 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
2 tbsp brown sugar
1 tbsp rice vinegar
2 tbsp cornstarch
2 tbsp water
2 tbsp green onions, sliced
1 tsp sesame seeds
Instructions
1. In a medium bowl, whisk together the honey, minced garlic, soy sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, and rice vinegar until smooth.
2. Place the frozen meatballs in the crockpot and pour the sauce over them.
3. Stir gently so the meatballs are evenly coated.
4. Cover and cook on low for 3 to 4 hours or on high for 2 to 3 hours, until the meatballs are heated through.
5. In a small bowl, stir together the cornstarch and water to make a slurry.
6. Add the slurry to the crockpot during the last 20 to 30 minutes of cooking and stir gently.
7. Let the sauce thicken until it becomes glossy and coats the meatballs well.
8. Garnish with sliced green onions and sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
Use frozen fully cooked meatballs for the easiest prep and most reliable texture in the slow cooker.
For a thicker sauce, leave the lid slightly ajar during the last few minutes after adding the cornstarch slurry.
Serve over rice, noodles, or with toothpicks for an easy appetizer spread.
