Ingredients
2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 and 1/2 cups BBQ sauce
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
2 tablespoons brown sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon onion powder
1 teaspoon smoked paprika
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
1. Place chicken breasts into the bottom of the crockpot.
2. In a bowl, mix BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
3. Pour sauce mixture over the chicken, covering each piece well.
4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
5. Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks directly in the pot.
6. Stir shredded chicken into the sauce and let it sit for 15-20 minutes on warm before serving.
Notes
Make sure chicken is fully thawed before cooking for even texture and taste.
If sauce is too thin after cooking, remove the lid and let it reduce for 15-20 minutes on high.
Use a bold, thick BBQ sauce for best flavor and consistency.
