Description

If you’re dreaming of a festive dessert that hits the perfect balance between deep chocolate richness and cool peppermint brightness, then this Chocolate Peppermint Bundt Cake is your holiday miracle in a pan. Rich cocoa, creamy sour cream, and bursts of crushed peppermint come together in this gorgeous, moist bundt that looks stunning on a holiday dessert table.

Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon baking soda

1/2 teaspoon salt

1 cup unsalted butter

1 3/4 cups granulated sugar

3 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon peppermint extract

1 cup sour cream

1/2 cup whole milk

1 cup mini chocolate chips

1/2 cup crushed peppermint candies

1 cup powdered sugar

2 tablespoons milk

1/4 cup extra crushed peppermint candies (for garnish)

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a bundt pan or use baking spray with flour.

2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. In a large bowl, beat butter and sugar on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 3 minutes.

4. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract and peppermint extract.

5. Alternately add the dry ingredients and the sour cream and milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the dry mixture. Mix until just combined.

6. Gently fold in mini chocolate chips and crushed peppermint candies.

7. Pour the batter into the prepared bundt pan and smooth the top.

8. Bake for 45–50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out with moist crumbs.

9. Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely.

10. Whisk powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle glaze over the cooled cake.

11. Sprinkle with extra crushed peppermint candies and let the glaze set before serving.

Notes

Use full-fat sour cream for best texture and moisture.

Crush your peppermint candies just before using to prevent stickiness.

Let the cake cool completely before adding glaze for a clean finish.
