Description

Candy Cane Fudge Snowballs are a quick holiday dessert with a rich white chocolate fudge center, cool peppermint flavor, and a pretty snowy coating that makes them perfect for Christmas dessert trays, easy party treats, edible gifts, and festive food ideas. This easy recipe is ideal when you need simple no-bake dessert ideas, holiday candy for sharing, or a sweet make-ahead treat that looks cheerful and tastes creamy, minty, and irresistible.

Ingredients

2 1/2 cups white chocolate chips

1 14 ounce can sweetened condensed milk

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1 teaspoon peppermint extract

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1/8 teaspoon salt

1/2 cup crushed candy canes

3/4 cup powdered sugar

1/2 cup shredded coconut optional

Instructions

1. Line a small baking dish or shallow pan with parchment paper.

2. Add the white chocolate chips, sweetened condensed milk, and butter to a saucepan over low heat or to a heat-safe bowl over gently simmering water.

3. Stir until the mixture is fully melted, smooth, and glossy.

4. Remove from the heat and stir in the peppermint extract, vanilla extract, and salt.

5. Fold in the crushed candy canes, reserving a small spoonful for topping if desired.

6. Transfer the mixture to the prepared dish and spread it evenly.

7. Refrigerate for 2 hours, or until the fudge is firm enough to scoop.

8. Use a small cookie scoop or spoon to portion the chilled fudge.

9. Roll each portion between your hands to form smooth balls.

10. Roll each ball in powdered sugar or in a mix of powdered sugar and shredded coconut for a snowy finish.

11. Place the finished snowballs on a tray and chill for 20 to 30 minutes before serving.

12. Garnish with the reserved crushed candy canes if you want extra festive color.

Notes

Chill the fudge mixture well before rolling so the balls hold their shape easily.

Lightly dust your hands with powdered sugar if the mixture starts to stick while shaping.

For the cleanest snowy finish, roll the snowballs in powdered sugar right before serving or after thawing from the freezer.
