Ingredients

4 large sweet potatoes

6 tablespoons unsalted butter

3/4 cup dark brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

1. Peel the sweet potatoes and cut them into thick rounds or wedges. Arrange in a single layer in a baking dish.

2. Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in the brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Let the mixture bubble for 2 minutes.

3. Pour the hot glaze over the sweet potatoes, turning them to coat. Cover with foil and bake at 375°F for 30 minutes.

4. Uncover and baste with the sauce. Bake uncovered for another 20–25 minutes until tender and caramelized.

5. Serve warm with extra glaze spooned on top.

Notes

Use dark brown sugar for richer depth.

Turn the sweet potatoes halfway for even glazing.

To add crunch, top with toasted pecans before serving.
