Ingredients
1 lb boneless skinless chicken breast
1 tablespoon sesame oil
2 cloves garlic minced
1 tablespoon fresh ginger grated
3 tablespoons soy sauce
2 tablespoons hoisin sauce
1 tablespoon rice vinegar
1 teaspoon honey
1/2 cup shredded carrots
3 green onions sliced
1 tablespoon sesame seeds
1 head butter lettuce separated into leaves
Instructions
1. Cut chicken into small bite-sized pieces.
2. Heat sesame oil in a nonstick skillet over medium-high heat.
3. Add chicken and cook for 6–8 minutes until golden and cooked through.
4. Reduce heat slightly and add minced garlic and grated ginger; cook for 1 minute.
5. Stir in soy sauce, hoisin sauce, rice vinegar, and honey; let simmer 2–3 minutes.
6. Add shredded carrots and half of the green onions; cook just until carrots soften.
7. Spoon filling into butter lettuce leaves.
8. Top with remaining green onions and sesame seeds.
9. Serve immediately while hot and crisp.
Notes
Use butter lettuce for best texture and presentation.
Don’t overcook the sauce; let it just bubble and thicken slightly.
Keep lettuce leaves fresh by storing with a damp paper towel in the fridge.
