Welcome to my kitchen
A 28-year-old passionate home-baker living in Atlanta, turning simple ingredients into memories.
I’ve competed in culinary competitions across the country and launched pop-ups, but honestly? I just want to help you make something delicious for the people you love.
Life With Mira didn’t start in a fancy culinary school. It started in my childhood kitchen on a rainy Tuesday in Atlanta when I was 8 years old. I was determined to recreate my Grandmother’s famous “Imperfect Apple Tart.”
I remember standing on a step-stool, covered in flour, watching the oven like a hawk. I ended up burning the edges of the crust, and the apples were sliced completely unevenly. I was devastated. But when my dad walked in, smelled the caramelized sugar, and took a huge bite with a smile on his face, I learned my most valuable lesson:
Great cooking creates connection. That messy, burnt-edge tart is still one of my favorite memories, and it sparked a fire in me that led me to 10 years of culinary adventures.
That first apple tart obsession quickly snowballed. By the time I was in college, while my roommates were surviving on instant noodles, I was the one stressing over the perfect puff pastry. I realized that the kitchen was my sanctuary—a place where chaos turned into comfort. It wasn’t just about feeding people; it was about the art of hospitality.
However, the transition from “hobby cook” to “food blogger” wasn’t seamless. I spent years refining my technique, learning that sometimes the most impressive dishes require patience. I remember the first time I nailed a classic Chicken Wellington. Wrapping that delicate puff pastry around the savory filling without it getting soggy felt like winning a gold medal. It taught me that precision pays off.
But let’s be real—life gets busy. As I moved into my late 20s, I realized that while I loved fancy French techniques, what I really needed (and what you really needed) were meals that fit into a chaotic Tuesday. That’s when I started developing recipes like my Garlic Parmesan Crockpot Chicken and Potatoes. It was a game-changer: proving that “slow-cooked” flavor could fit into a fast-paced life.
Life With Mira grew from a personal digital diary into a destination for home cooks who want that balance between “chef-quality” and “home-comfort.” Whether it’s waking up early to prep a batch of Sausage Breakfast Muffins for a busy week ahead or spending a Sunday afternoon baking, my goal is to make every recipe accessible.
Today, this blog is a collection of my successes, my failures (we don’t talk about the salt-sugar mix-up of 2018), and my absolute favorite flavors. Every recipe here is a chapter of my story, and I am so honored that you are choosing to make them part of yours.
When I’m not covered in flour, I am exploring the world with my husband. We believe the best souvenir is a new recipe.
102 Countries Visited & CountingFrom tasting authentic Pastéis de Nata in Portugal to street-side mango sticky rice in Southeast Asia, I bring these global flavors back to my Atlanta kitchen to create unique twists on classic recipes.
My recipes are a blend of classic techniques and modern convenience. Each one goes through a detailed review process to ensure the instructions are easy to follow and the results are consistent.
Baking is a science, so I generally recommend sticking to the recipe for the first try. However, for savory dishes like the Crockpot Chicken, I often include notes on common swaps you can make!
